So, me and my boyfriend are in France, and with the mandatory quarantine we can't go to a vet... My bf has an extra dwarf rabbit, +- 6 yo male. Not neutered. Once in a while the rabbit starts being itchy all the time, specially around the back. We have him flea treatment once recommended by the vet, but now he doesn't have nay fleas and he keeps being itchy. He goes around running (he's free in the house) and begging us to scratch him all the time.
We noticed now that he has two tiny spots on the back, they look like tiny blisters but with a black-ish water that comes out if we stretch the skin just a tiny bit. He seems to be itchy there....
Does anyone know what this is? Some sort of allergy? I grew up with dogs, cats and horses and I'm used to check the animals for fleas etc, and I don't see any on him... Before knowing my bf I had no experience with rabbits, so I'm a bit lost here....
We read that thym is good if they eat it, for parasites. We can find thym in the forest and all because we are in countryside so we still can go out in those places, but we can't go to the vet. I also read that green tea light be good for the skin of the bunny (not drinking, just applying it on the skin).
Can someone give us advice please? It's not a life-threatening situation for the little friend, but we don't like seeing him itchy all the time, and maybe there's something going on.
Thank you all in advance !
