My cat still has Giardia after 1 round of meds. It’s so frustrating to deal with this parasite. I feel like everything in my house is contaminated including my clothes and bed. I can’t keep him out of my bed. I’m also still picking him up just not as much. I wipe his paws and anal area with pet wipes. Is it necessary to disinfect hardwood floors? I’ve read that the cysts can live on a hard surface for 1 week. I use bleach once a day to disinfect the litter box. Should the litter box be disinfected if he just pees? Should I spray the food and water bowls with bleach too? I’m going to have the rugs and upholstered furniture steam cleaned. Also he will be bathed on the day of the steam cleaning. There is a ton of information on the internet but at this point I need some practical information on how far I need to go in dealing with this.
