So, a little backstory first. I’ve had my cat, Stoops, for almost as long as I’ve been alive. I’m 20 and she would be 17 this year. She’s an outdoor cat but often comes inside at night to sleep, especially if it’s cold or raining outside. In fact, she prefers to be inside 9 times out of 10. She went missing last Saturday and my family can’t seem to figure out why. Yes, she’s very old but showed absolutely no signs of sickness or passing. My older brother was the last to see her, and as usual, she was on the porch begging to be let in. She has not returned since. Now, although she is an outdoor cat, she never tended to roam past our yard. Like I mentioned before, she always preferred to be inside so she stayed close so whenever we rolled up in the driveway, she could meet us at the door. We have checked with neighbors, who haven’t seen her, and also posted to several lost Facebook pages as well as visited local animal shelters. There are some construction workers next door, and my friend mentioned they could have frightened her, but they’ve been working for several months so I’m not sure why she would be frightened now. I’m worried one of them might’ve taken her but I haven’t got the chance to ask yet due to substantial rain in the last few days. There is the chance of a predator, but we rarely see coyotes and I feel if she came across one, she would dart up the nearest tree. Perhaps maybe an owl or hawk? I’m not sure. I guess I’m just looking for advice or opinions of others because I just want my baby home.
