We moved into a new house last August and there was a cat that was always hanging around our house. He/she isn’t friendly and we assume it’s feral. Well as an animal lover I felt so bad for it, hot as heck out and the poor kitty was skin and bones so we left out some food and water. I made it a little shelter out of straw in a Tupperware bin for the winter nights. I usually feed him daily- he’s gotten comfortable enough that he sits in the window beside the front door when he’s ready for dinner. But still won’t let us get too close. Well the other day I completely forgot to feed him and today there was a dead mouse on our doorstep. Is he bartering for cat food? Is this just a random gift? Anyone have any insight?
