When I was a teenager, it was still my dad, my mom, my brother, my sister and me. One day, my mom brought home a cat that kept staying by her work office building while we were still living in our home state - Oahu, Hawaii.
Whiskers was a short-haired, mild-mannered cat. He had gray cat hair on most of his body. The gray had dark gray cheetah spots or leopard spots along his back and sides. He had dark gray thin stripes on his head, smoky emerald green eyes and whiskers. He had a large white diamond pattern on the back of his neck or back and white socks.
I was a teenager when we got him. He and I bonded emotionally right away. He was an indoor cat and very quiet, but when my mom bathed him, everyone heard him. lol He never liked going outside.
I have many cute stories about Whiskers. Some I'll share here in this community. :)
He loved sitting on my sheepskin rug. He especially sat on it gingerly and stayed there, after he got snipped, if you know what I mean. I don't know if the term is spayed or neutered. My brother Aaron kept wanting Whiskers to go hang out with him but he'd return to my sheepskin rug. Poor thing. My dad explained to my brother Whiskers felt better when he sat on my sheepskin rug after what happened. My brother wondered why I and our sister had sheepskin rugs and not him. lol Our gramma got them for us when we were kids. He wasn't yet conceived.
One of the times Whiskers had a cute story with my brother also involved a calabash cousin. His dad and my dad were best friends, and his mom and my mom were also close friends and she babysat me and my sister when we were kids.
Aaron and Jeffrey were playing hide and seek. Jeffrey was named after my dad Jeff since my dad wanted a son. Aaron went and hid. Whiskers followed him to where he was and perched back, sitting on his hind legs and staring at Aaron. Aaron kept whispering for Whiskers to leave but he wouldn't. lol
Jeffrey saw Whiskers sitting there staring and of course found Aaron. lol
