Hi everyone, I'm a bit at my wits end, and would appreciate any help, if possible.
We've had out cat for about four years. He's very neat as most cats are and never had any issues with their litterbox. However, for the past 4 weeks, he seems to be pooping outside of the litter box. Everytime I noticed, I cleaned it off with clorox wipes and sprayed it as well. I thought the issue might be the size of the litterbox (we moved half a year ago, and it hadn't been an issue ever, but I always thought it was a bit small) as the poop was always just outside the litterbox. So I purchased a new one which is considerably larger.
However, this morning I again see he pooped outside of it. It never seems to be an issue with peeing, so I truly don't know what the issue is. Nothing has changed (litterwise, or anything else) aside from that we are home a lot more now, for obvious reasons.
I'm also now worried he might be used to it now and we somehow have to retrain him and that might be the issue? So that the box is fine, but that it's just a behavioral issue now? Or do you suggest to go to the vet. He seems 100% the same in every other way, but I just don't know anymore,
