I’m looking for insight from anyone who’s dog has gone through the BMT process.
My 8yo Frenchie, Layla, was just diagnosed with stage IV multicentric lymphoma. My husband and I are devastated and just want to give her as much quality of life as possible. Yesterday she finished her 2nd round of chemotherapy via the 15 week CHOP protocol. My husband and I have to make a decision by Friday (07/17/20) on whether we should change the chemo course to facilitate bone marrow transplant if/when she goes into remission.
The chance of cure is 33% if we do it and we aren’t sure we want to put her through the stress, toxicity (from radiation, plasmapheresis, sepsis, etc), potential for death (while we aren’t even present), and isolation (we wouldn’t be able to visit her for at least a month).
Again, just looking for some insight to help in making our final decision.
