We've adopted a 3yr old cat and after three weeks in our home, she has settled in quite nicely. However, she does still seem to be anxious and needy (which we expected) and is very vocal when left by herself, always looking for someone to be around - not in the sense that she wants pets but just people in the vicinity to keep her company.
My parents in a couple weeks want to take a trip to our family cottage, meaning we would be leaving her alone for the majority of 3 full days. There are no other pets in the home, so she would be by herself with the exception of our neighbour coming to feed her and change her water and litter.
Is this too soon for her to be left completely alone? This is her 3rd home in 2 months (including the foster home) and I think she needs more time to be acclimated before we all up and leave. I am willing to stay behind and be with her, but my parents want this to be a family trip.
