Hi! I have a 7 months old cat. He got fixed like 1 or 2 weeks ago.
Before he was fixed, he was meowing very strange at night, something like a yowl but shorter. It's hard to explain but imagine him trying to meow in the most different ways possible, every meow different from another. It didn't even sound like a meow anymore. Most of the times he was even running around and jumping and climbing on furniture while "meowing" like that so I thought this might happen because he wanted attention. So I tried to ignore him and then play with him when he was silent. I also played with him before going to bed but it still didn't help.
Then I got him fixed and for more than a week he was silent, meowing (normal meows) only during the day when he had to (for stuff like opening the door). Now he started doing those strange meows again. He starts around 5am (and sometimes he also does this during the day), runs around with the speed of a rocket, climbing on my furniture (I'm still surprised he hasn't destroyed it yet). And if I give him attention when he is like this (like talk to him or move or look at him), his meow changes into a normal meow.
Every website says I should play with him before going to bed but this doesn't seem to help. (Also playing with him is pretty hard since he doesn't really like toys).
If you can give me an explanation to what he wants and how can I help him please don't hesitate to tell me!
