Cat refuses topical ointment, need advice!!

We recently took in a stray cat who had babies under our porch. She has been very sweet and loves to be pet but will not let you pick her up. She has an open sore/ringworm on her muzzle that the vet recommended we clean with an antibacterial wipe and then apply antibacterial and antiviral ointment. Although this cat is very loving, she is refusing to let us touch her face, she runs from us when we try to wrap her with a towel or scarf, and she hisses and will bite if put in too much of a stressful situation. We have been looking all over the internet for help but all of the "aggressive" cats we see online let you pick them up and are more domesticated than our cat. She doesn't even sit on our lap, her pupils are constantly dilated because shes alert. We are unsure of how to treat her without full on wrestling her to the ground with a towel and we dont have medication nor do we want to have to medicate her twice a day for the next 14 days. Does anyone have any advice or experience with aggressive cats?
