Cat still getting aggressive at bedtime

I posted here a couple weeks ago about my 10 month old neutered male cat who started getting aggressive at bedtime. It was suggested that I try putting him on a bedtime routine, so I've been doing that. I feed him about half an hour before I start getting ready for bed, and we play (mostly fetch, his favorite) while I'm brushing my teeth etc. I'll play with him like this till he decides he's done and won't respond to play stimuli anymore. He then will wander around the room or lie on the floor mostly ignoring me until he sees me about to get in bed at which point he gets mad and starts biting my ankles. If I try to start petting or playing with him again at this point he refuses and just keeps meowing and attacking. Most of the advice I see about this issue says that this behavior means he isn't getting enough play or attention, but I play with him till he decides he won't play anymore. Today I was home with him all day, giving him attention off and on all day, and we played fetch till he refused to do it anymore, and I still had to put him out in the hall just now because he started being aggressive as I was getting in bed. He's only like this when I go to bed, the rest of the time he's a sweet baby, even sits still and quiet so I can trim his claws. I don't know what to do since basically the only advice I see anyone give isn't working.
