My chihuahua and I have been together since he was 8 weeks and he is now 5 years and 7 months! We usually get along very well and he is currently on heartworm treatment but he isn’t having any side effects. His last injection was a week ago so he isn’t sore. Every morning I wake up with him in my arms and I kiss him a lot but he gets excited. He’s a great dog, very loving, potty trained, and he’s so cute! However, today was a different story, I woke up, kissed him on his body and I usually do this with no problem even when he’s asleep and he looked at me for 3 seconds and attacked my face and bit me right on the nose. He drew blood from the inside of my nose and got some skin. I didn’t punish him because I went to the restroom to clean my now bloody nose. Is there any reason why he would do this? How do I punish him for it? This is the first time he ever bit someone.
