I was venting to a couple of people because I am getting really frustrated about wanting to go back to my home country because of my cat. It is impossible to do now because of COVID. My ex is taking care of her and I'm very thankful that someone is taking care of her while I'm away.
What is making me sadder is people blaming me for having a pet. My home country isn't really that great nor rich and where I am at right now is the opposite (I am here because I need to work in another country for a better opportunity). They keep on insisting that I shouldn't have gotten a pet because where I am at right now is much better rather than going back to my home country with my cat.
I really wish people have more empathy for pet lovers and how much having a pet means to us. My cat means so much to me and it breaks my heart that going home isn't really a great option for now. I wish for this to be all over so I could go home.
