Is it ok to lock my cat out over night?

Hi, my cat is roughly 13/14 years old and we got her when she was around 4. Recently she has started bringing in mice, a couple of times a few moths ago and now a couple of days in a row. I’m very scared of rodents as are other members of my family. It was decided tonight after she tried to bring in a mouse that we would lock the cat flap and keep her outside. We’ve never really done this before, is it OK?

I’m worried she’ll get cold or get confused when she is unable to come inside. I might be over thinking this, I am a bit of a worrier, but I just wanted to get some advice from other pet owners.
