Is it unethical to get a cat if you live in an area with lots of bird life?

I’m about to move to a house just next to a large park, so there will be a lot of native birds around. BUT I love cats, and have wanted a cat for years and years.

My old cat would chew through his collar bell so he could still hunt. I don’t know what else to do to stop a cat hunting, and I think having indoor cats is a bit unfair on them

What can I do to protect native fauna and still have a l’il furry mate?
