writing this on my phone.
i’ve never posted on reddit before, so this probably won’t even be seen, but i am very concerned.
i have a 3 year old himalayan cat and her left eye is constantly leaking this nasty brown substance. i’m only 15, so i can’t take her to a vet myself and no adult takes my cats seriously. for real.
when my other cat got hit by a car and came back home, he was noticeably walking weird, meowing in pain and kept tensing then un-tensing his whole body. no one would take him to a vet due to covid blocking up all the real appointments and the emergency vet costs money. i understand that money isn’t infinite, but if it was my dog that was acting this way we’d have already been at the emergency vet. in all fairness, we only learned he had been hit after two days of begging to take him after he stopped eating. (he’s okay now btw everything’s been taken care of)
back to the main cat; she’s really shy and anxious so i can’t put a phone to her face and take a photo, but her eye is very swollen, stained brown and completely closed at times, then at other times she can see perfect. i do clean away the brown stuff with a tissue lightly, to help her, but i’m pretty sure my male cat licks it away off her eye for her. i’ve brought it up to the adults and they say she’s fine and they’re not wasting a day and more money just for the vet to tell them that she’s fine. i know eye discharge is very common in cats, especially himalayan, i just want to know if this is a squished face issue or a much bigger one.
