I had growing up 3 cats. One was a female stray we caught; the other was a our 1 year old kitten we allowed to roam free. We found the stray (Princess) roaming around our backyard. We didnt know our young kitten (Tommy) got her pregnant We just decided to take her in since she was so friendly and wanted to have her babies on our back porch. She had a large litter; 2 died and 3 survived. We gave out all but 1; the runt of the liter we named Arlo.
The three were a family. Very close to one another and to us. Princess was spoiled rotten (hence the name) and demanded everything. She got fat and suffered from diabetes. She survived till 18 where she passed from complications. Shortly after Tommy passed suddenly. We assume from a broken heart. They were very close and he became very depressed after her passing.
Tommy was loud and assertive to everyone but, Princess who he cowered too. Even our Pitbull was shy around Princess. She could be very mean when she was hungry or tired or not the center of attention.
Now Arlo has passed. He outlasted everyone. Arlo was shy and reserved but, he was a good cat. Fucking terrible year. My Dad texted me out of the blue (we rarely talk) that Arlo was throwing up blood and they were taking him to the Vet ER. He died en route. Massive internal bleeding. They aren't sure why.
Shit sucks.
