I'm getting a puppy in a few weeks and have been quite confused with what to do on the first night.
In some videos that I've watched, they recommend that I wake up every 2-4 hours to take them out of their crate and potty and some say that I should wait until they wake up and whine. However, other people say that by waiting for whines, they might have already relieved themselves inside their crate.
So what should I do? If I decide to wake up every 2-4 hours and they're still asleep, do I just sit there? Would it be a good idea to leave the crate unlocked in a small room and leave some potty pads outside for them to go on their own?
Man this subject has really made my youtube recommendations weird.
