A few years ago I helped M get a cat. About six months ago she asked me to look at a wound on him and I told her after looking that he required a vet.
She kept making excuses and he never saw a vet.
I went there two weeks ago, first time in a few months due to quarantine, and was shocked to see him skinny with a back arch. I told her she HAD to take him to a vet because he looked very sick.
She stated that she wasn't worried because he was eating and drinking and playing so I put my foot down and insisted that she take him to a vet, cats look like that when there are kidney issues or diabetes.
She said she'd take him to the vet.
Yesterday I got a message that he'd died. I asked what the vet had said and she admitted he hadn't been taken to see one. Gave excuses. I told her I didn't want to talk.
Why the hell would someone get a cat and then refuse to get vet attention? He was four and she had never even bothered to vaccinate!
And she has the nerve to say she's not getting any more because they keep dying, like she's jinxed? All her cats die or disappear and it's not coincidence.
I'm very angry. It's not like she didn't know he was sick.
