So i have a year old corgi (mixed with another breed that we don’t know of) and about 4-5 months ago she developed some allergies. It started with her just aggressively itching her eyes, to the point where her nail would be inside of her eyelid and was bleeding. We bought her some eye drops and that did the trick for a little while. Then it started up again, this time along with the top of her head. There was a quarter sized bald spot that she would itch until she bled. We took her to the vet and they did a skin scrape and ruled out skin mites and ring worm. They prescribed some apoquel and antibiotics. This worked for a weekish and then it started again, this time along with the back of her neck. We got her a cone and tried to just keep that on until everything heeled. Well then she was shitting blood. So we took her straight to the animal hospital and they didn’t know what was wrong, they assumed a skin infection. So they shaved all around the wounds and cleaned them out and we got probably 4 different medications that time. We then had a follow up with her regular vet and they prescribed more medication as well. After all of that was over, she seemed fine for a good couple weeks. But now the wounds on her head and neck are back and she’s got new ones on her snout. I’ve already spent over a thousand dollars at the vet, I’ve tried omega 3, switched her shampoo and conditioner to anti itch, she’s in the cone 24/7 now. Any suggestions that won’t cost me an arm and a leg?
