So I’ve had my kitten Loki for about 4 weeks now and he’s just the best kitty ever. I’ve never had a pet before but he’s okay with me making mistakes. We share a very special bond and while he doesn’t want to be pet or played with all the time he does always want me to be there as he’s usually looking for me if he can’t find me for a few minutes.
In three weeks my family wants me to join them on a 5 day vacation. I told them I’d be able to go for 2 1/2 and they were stoked I could come! Unfortunately I’m really scared about what will happen to my bond with Loki. I’ve got someone to give him food and water twice a day but nobody will be around to play with him or keep him out of trouble or check he’s not gotten hurt. He’s never hurt himself or gotten in trouble around the apartment but I’m scared something may happen.
Additionally I’m worried he may be angry with me for leaving him. Whenever I go even for a short period of time he’s always all over me when I get back meowing and purring and asking for love, which I’m more than happy to provide but what if I get back and he’s angry?
I’m thinking about not joining my family on the trip even though I’d really like to so I can care of Loki. What are your thoughts on the matter?
