We have 2 cats who have had been using a water fountain for ~6 months. Last week it broke and we ordered a new one (exactly the same), but one of our cats is now refusing to use it.
We didn't notice at first because the water level was going down, which we now know must've been our other cat drinking from it. Then one day the other cat started drinking from a bowl of milk that was left on the table after breakfast, and then was seen drinking water from the bath after one of us had a shower. So we twigged that she was clearly thirsty but wasn't using the new water fountain. We put down a bowl of water and she started drinking from it straight away and drank a LOT like she'd not drank in a long time.
Does anyone know why she might have stopped using the water fountain now after 6 months of using one? It is a new one but it's the exact same one they had before, in the exact same place... It just doesn't make sense to me??
