Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but my little brother has a female cat (now 8 years old, spayed). My mother and brother decided to declaw her when she was around 1.5 years old. I didn't like the idea but the decision wasn't up to me. The cat grew up in our household and we (the family) refuse to let her go because we've gotten used to her and know her well (eating habits, behavior...). Her reaction to other cats in the house (cats weren't ours) is just hissing and growling at low volume if they're close to her but she's 100% harmless.
Now that I'm able to make a living, I've always wanted to adopt a young-adult/adult dog but I know they do home checks. I'm scared that when they see the cat, they'd think that I won't be eligible to adopt a dog. So I ask you, would it be a problem for me?
