I just adopted my first cat! She's two years old, and has been an indoor cat all her life. She's a wonderful little lady, but when I sit at my desk, she often comes over and try to get my attention by staring at me and meowing. If I get up, she'll lead me somewhere. Sometimes there's something she wants, like a window open, and sometimes it seems she just wanted me to come and be in the other room with her. How should I respond to this? Am I teaching her bad behavior by reacting when she meows? Maybe I should put some cat beds around the desk area so she feels like she can hang out with me here?
