Had a stroke of genius and wanted to share

Hey folks, hope you're all well. I had an amazing idea this week and I wanted to share it because I don't get good ideas very often and in case it could help some of you out. My cat Spud is the best boy and I love him with my whole heart. He's a big boy and his ideal weight is around 5.5kg, but despite weekly vet visits, we haven't been able to get him to maintain above 5kg. He's been stuck in a pattern of gaining a little and then losing that weight and more. He's been really finicky about eating over the last few weeks because a particular medication for something else upset his tummy. But I had an idea. Even when he won't go for any of the 10 varieties of food I have out, split into 5 different bowls of food on my kitchen floor, he WILL go for wet treats no matter what. You know the ones in the little squeezy tubes like Tiki Cat Stix? So I thought, what if I could trick him into thinking his regular food is just one big treat? Well anyway, you know those little squeezy pouches that baby food and kids yoghurt often come in? I found some reusable ones and filled them with Spud's regular food after I ran it through the food processor. I haven't been able to get his PlaqueOff, omegas or psyllium husk into him for weeks because his eating has been so funny, but I mixed all of that into it too. And once I did this and offered it to him, squeezing it out little by little, he amazingly went right for it. Sometimes he eats the whole pouch, other times he stops and has more later, but even though I know hand feeding might not be ideal for some of you, if you're really struggling to get your cats to eat, give this a go. Might even work for small dogs having trouble eating too. Anyway, have a nice day!
