So I have 3 cats, 16f, 14m, 6m. They are all extremely bonded, friendly, cuddly, and well behaved... and SPOILED!
But I recently rescued a dog and they are not happy.. I've had this dog for 3 weeks and the youngest cat still swats at him and the other 2 both hide away and I miss them...
They have access to half the house that the dog doesn't and he's kenneled when no one is home (which is only 2 hours a day). He literally ignores them completely. He is a special needs dog, he has anxiety, and epilepsy. He is heavily medicated and just sort of follows his human around the house aimlessly and likes to cuddle. I love my little dope. He also doesn't bark or play, he just lays there staring at me or chewing his bone. But my youngest cat STILL growles and swats at him and the other two are hiding. They are elderly and I want to spend as much time with them as possible before they pass, I feel like I messed up their final years by getting this dog...
How do I help this introduction process along? Make my cats more comfortable? They have lots of high trees. Idk what else to do.
