Just under two weeks ago, I found blood in my 4 year old male cat's urine in combination to him going to the box often and only peeing a tiny amount. I took him to try vet immediately and they gave him fluids, Metacam and did a urinalysis. They found his urine was super concentrated and found crystals in his urine. They recommended feeding him a wetnl food only diet (he was on a combo of dry and wet before). For the first week, my cat loved being on wet food only. But after the first week, he has started turning his nose up to it. This is weird for my cat. He LOVES food. He has never not immediately gobbled up whatever I put in front of him. So this is weird behavior. I know cat nortoriously can be strong willed when switching them from one routine from another but I am wondering if I should be worried? Is it more important for him to actually eat then to force him only into wet food? I've tried to also sprinkle some dry food on his wet food and he still walks away. He will sometimes eat a bit and then come back and eat a tiny bit again but he is eating a lot less than he normally would.. I'm worried about his water intake obviously too because he gets a lot of his moisture from the wet food. I try to promote water intake but it's hard. I'm planning on ordering a water fountain this evening for him too. Should I just wait him out?? Any other insights??
