I don’t feel bonded to my dog

I’ve had my dog for about 3 years now. She’s a Frenchie/Boston terrier mix and honestly she’s a very good dog. She has a quirky little personality and is sweet but I just don’t feel attached to her. I know it’s because I had the best dog (another Boston terrier girl) in the entire world until who passed away 10 years ago. I was so close with my other dog we grew up together and slept in the same bed, we went everywhere together. I can’t stop comparing the dog I have now to the dog I lost. I find myself thinking I wish I had my old dog back and how much I miss her instead of appreciating the dog I have now. Is it normal to feel like this for so long after the passing of a pet? How can I have a better bond with my new dog? Sometimes I think she would be better off with another family who loved her the way she should be but I don’t want to give up yet.
