OK, would y'all microchip a kitten or two without the owners' consent?
I spent the last 8 years around a cat who, now many months ago, ran away and will never be found because his owners refused to microchip or put a collar on him, or keep him indoors. After complaining that no one would give them kittens because they maintain the above stances, they've found a supplier and are getting one or two kittens to treat the same way.
I'm so tempted to sneak the kittens off to at least get microchipped next time I'm enlisted to cat-sit. I could even give the owners' info, since despite everything, I know they wouldn't be mad enough to try to get the chip(s) removed. It wouldn't be hard to say the owners asked me to get this done for them.
Is there a better option, other than just taking clear pictures of the new felines every time I see them to use in future lost-cat posters?
