Old dog pls help

Hi, me and my boyfriend but mostly my boyfriend decided to foster a dog. This dog is a xolo mix and 8 years old. He saw her on the humane society and immediately put in an application for her. We all had bonded so much over the passed couple of days, but we might have to take her back. On their website it was listed that she needed eye medication, but when he actually sat down with the people and talked to them, they said she would need it every 12 hours for the rest of her life, which I usually wouldn’t be a problem, but my boyfriend works long hours and it would be hard to keep up with her medication. We also found out she might actually be partially blind. I’ve watched a lot of videos on old dogs peeing in the house and stuff but none of them really help. Some of the videos say we need to take her to the doctor to see if she maybe has an underlying reason for peeing in the house. She goes very often too, we probably took her out to pee 6 times today. We both really love her already and don’t want to have to take her back, but we both understand she may be more responsibility than we can handle. Does anyone else have any advice? Do you think we should at least take her to the doctor?
