Dog bit her leg and broke her leg, she has six fragments, it looked terrible. She was getting heavy painkillers for a day and was still in pain. Yesterday morning she had a surgery, vet actually saved the leg although for me it looked like it would get amputated. She got six screws and a metal plate. Tommorow we are going to get her. He said she will need two months of recovery with very limited movement. Thing is, she is a street cat, but we have prepared the room only for her and are hoping for the best.
I need advice regarding her recovery. How painful will it be for her? Will we get some sedation or painkillers to give her? How to address the stitches? How often should that be done? How to limit her movement? I'm really afraid to hurt her when we address the stitches, I don't want her to suffer I just want her to be comfortable and heal. Any advice is very welcome.
