Hey, sorry, I realize that this is stupid question and that's why I'm posting it on Reddit as opposed to publically showing my face anywhere.
I really wish that I could find a type of animal that doesn't mind being treated like a little baby (cribs, play pens, lots of coddling/attention, bought baby toys)? My girlfriend works and I stay at home studying online for a master's degree.
At first I thought I would do well with a small dog from a shelter but I found out most of those breeds are higher-strung and actually not into pampering as much as they're thought to be. Another idea that I had was that I could adopt a disabled dog to take care of, but it makes me feel weird/unethical to specifically look for disabilities just for the sake of coddling them.
I guess now I'm thinking about if any other small animals would like to be treated like babies?
(I've had people tell me to actually just get a baby instead, but that's kind of bizarre? I don't want to raise a whole human child through adolescence and teenage years, I just want a "baby"? If I adopted a child just to want a year of them being an infant that would be really strange?)
