I’m an auxiliary nurse and work 12 hour shifts 3-4 times a week. I try to get 8 hour shifts 5-6 times a week but it’s never guaranteed, and I basically work only nights. I’m hoping to get a cat soon (Im seriously considering adopting a somewhat older one, 5-6 years is my possible limit). But i’m wondering if cats, especially a friendly one would act out and even grow to dislike me if I left it alone for 12 hours a few times a week. I wouldn’t get one if it would affect them. But so many people work full time and have pets. But I live alone and I would be the only one they know.
