This started yesterday morning, the night before they were sleeping together on the sofa like always, they've always gotten along great for years like best friends. But for some reason, a while after breakfast etc, our cat just suddenly turned on our dog despite the fact that he didn't seem to do anything out of the ordinary? really aggressively too like something was wrong, so we had to separate them - the dog downstairs, the cat upstairs. I don't want either to get hurt.
Our cat has since been very lovely and affectionate upstairs like nothing is wrong, so we thought we'd give them space and hope things would be better the next day. But today, our cat seemed like she wanted to come downstairs so we thought we'd let things play out like usual, but immediately she was back to being on edge with the dog, it's like she doesn't recognise him anymore? This has been really stressful, and I haven't been able to find anything like this anywhere.
Has anyone experienced something similar before, please?
