Hey everyone, so I’m a bit torn right now. I’m living on my own with housemates away from my family. I’ve been living on my own for already about 3 years. I’ve been wanting to get a cat for so long, and have mentioned it to my family many times. I’m 24 right now and feel like I am ready to have my own cat. You see, my family has a house of dogs and so they are really biased when it comes to favoring dogs than cats. I told my mom that I finally found a cat that I feel so strongly for. Here is the thing, both my parents are against me getting a cat- and they have even said “Do not bring the cat to our house.” I live with housemates and they are absolutely 100% in for having a cat, but the thing I’m worried about is.. not being able to bring the cat to my parents house if I go visit them during holidays or any other celebration. I was thinking since I have friends in the area they can possibly cat sit or go to pet hotels.. but I’m just sad that my family would be okay having me have a dog at the house but not a cat. :( Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, how did you guys resolve it?
