Hi everyone! I've been waiting until I turn 21 so that I can adopt a cat. I only want to adopt one cat because I don't think I have the physical/mental energy and finances for two.
Even for cats that are not listed as having "bonded pairs," they almost always have siblings or cat friends they get along with.
The only cats I've come across that don't like other cats are the ones that are on the shy/calm side, whereas I want a playful, outgoing and energetic cat. But again it seems as though those cats always have other cats.
There's a cat I applied for and like but I just feel really bad about splitting her up from her friend. I expressed my concerns to her foster mom and told her I'm wondering if the cat would be better off and happier with someone who will adopt them both together. She told me to gvive her a 2 week trial, but even then, how will I know she's "happier" than if she had a cat friend with her?
Because of this I've been wondering if I should wait and just adopt a kitten, who will not grow up with a memory of other cats and thus not feel like he/she is really missing out on anything.
Really looking for some advice here. Thank you in advance!
