Hello everyone.
I decided to spend my evening crocheting and my cat snatched a small piece of yarn when I was digging in my craft bag. He knows he's not supposed to get into my yarn but he can't help himself I suppose. I saw it disappear in his mouth and tried to scoop it out before it went all the way down. It was about 2 inches long as it was just a small piece I set aside for my project.
I called his vet and the Dr. Is out today. They did refer me to the college and I called them. Unfortunately, I just don't have the rather large amount of money they want. Additionally, this cat is a tank and tries to eat the vet when he goes in for checkups. He has a medication he is supposed to take the night before and the morning of his visit to calm him down so I don't think putting him in his carrier and going up to the college would be good for anyone. I read a couple links and saw the horror stories, but I'm wondering if yarn size matters? Also wondering if there's a way to get him to cough up a hairball or something that might have the yarn in it? Fingers crossed that he will be okay!
