How to get my cat to chill out and let me sleep at night

Hey all. I’ve got a Bengal-mix kitten who is about 7 months old. Since around October she has been incessantly disturbing my sleep and I am at my wit’s end.

It started with her getting the zoomies at night. When this would happen I would just lock her up in the bathroom (for reference, I live in a studio apartment). She would be quiet for a couple of hours and then start meowing, at which point I would let her out. This would happen once a night, and then it was twice a night, then three times. Then my entire sleep was segmented into one or two hour chunks.

Then it became a game to her. At night she’ll creep up to my bedside table, sit next to my head, and start yowling and/or rattling the blinds on the window. Sometimes she’ll find other objects to mess with to make noise. I’m certain this is to get my attention because I can watch her look at me, mess with the object, and then watch for my reaction. If I respond in any way, she darts under a piece of furniture so I can’t easily lock her up. Even when I can lock her up now, she begins meowing immediately and at such a volume that I’m afraid I’ll get a noise complaint from my neighbors.

I love this cat to death but I have no idea what I’m going to do. She has kept me awake until 7 am every morning for weeks and I can only escape it by sleeping at a friend’s place. I’ve tried playing with her more before bed, giving her a big meal at bedtime, giving her an antihistamine to make her drowsy (discussed with a veterinarian of course). But I really am beginning to think that she just needs a bigger space than I can give her at this point. She isn’t spayed yet but is scheduled to be, but that is still about 2 months away.

Have any of you dealt with anything like this? I don’t want to have to rehome her but I really don’t know what else to do.
