I have a 10 week old kitten and we got him 2 weeks ago. we use a flushable, corn based clumping litter. at first we had a mix of tofu and the corn which he used and never peed on the floor. he will still go on his litter box by himself to poo but has been peeing on the floor, despite the fact I will place him in his litter box frequently. we keep it very clean for him.
I've used pet deodorizing cleaner and vinegar in the spots he's peed to try and deter him from doing so. it hasn't worked. I'm going to go buy different litter tomorrow and place it in a different litter box which will be going in the area he goes to pee.
has anyone else experienced this? what did you do? And did you ever figure out the cause of this behaviour? if the new litter/litter box doesn't work I'll take him to the vet..but any personal experiences are welcomed.
