hello i have a 5 year old black cat named bear. for a very long time my baby has refused to drink out of anything but the sink. i read something about this saying that it was because some cats refer back to instinct and only drink from a running water source because they believe its cleaner. so i looked into it and ordered him a water drinking fountain for pets. i wanted to do this because every time he was thirsty i had to get up from my online class and turn on the water in my bathroom. also sometimes i would forget i had turned it on and it gets left on for very long wasting water and i hated wasting water. so we bought one online and it came in today. my cat has always been very introverted and only ever really liked me in the family and im the only one he really trusts. so he isn't very keen on new things. but i thought he would see it as another faucet. that was not the case sadly. he was very frightened by it and wouldn't enter the bathroom whatsoever. i felt bad because even when i turned it off he wouldn't come in to get a drink from the sink as usual. i had to hide the fountain to even get him to be on the counter and i really want him to be able to use it. does anybody have any tips to help my baby be less afraid of the fountain would be much appreciated thank you.
