My cat (a rescue stray) had a fungal infection on her face, and while that is being taken care of with topical treatment from the vet, she now keep scratching herself till she bleeds due to the itch.
Currently I have been forcing her to wear a collar, which stops her from reaching her face with her legs, but she really stressed out while wearing the collar, being extremely agressive when I had to put the colar back on after applying the treatment, and sometimes she manage to slip off the collar on her own and proceed to scratch herself to bleeding again, which makes the healing process very difficult. The newly healed skin also itch her, which makes her scratch and bleed and becomes a vicious cycle.
My vet has prescribed some anti-itch oral medicine for her but she really hate that as well and will not eat her food if it has any medicine in it, not even her favourite treat (she just spit it out) so forcing her to drink it just stress her out even more.
Anyone has advices on what I can do?
