I recently adopted a six year old Himalayan cat. His previous owner moved in to a retirement home and couldn't take him with her (she's the aunt of a friend of my mom's). He isn't neutered yet (appointment is the 21st) but is very well behaved and cuddly and uses the litter box perfectly. I don't know anything about his previous life. The foster he was with before us fed him Friskies and we're changing his food to Nutro, which he is slowly getting used to. Here's the deal with the treats. I got plenty of different flavors and brands and types of treats when I first brought him home. He'll eat the treats (Greenies mostly) if they are in with his regular food. He'll smell the treats and lick his chops but when I put it in front of him he looks confused and walks away. He's also barely interested in wet food. I'm thinking maybe his previous owner punished him for eating stuff that wasn't in his bowl? But I don't have anything to base that on. Any ideas for why he does this? Or how we can get him to eat treats like a normal cat?
