Hello. I'm just asking this question because around December my cat threw up and his bile was pink. We took him to the vet the next day and the vet suggested Hill's i/d prescription diet after we told them that the cat throws up at least once a week. Now my mom is asking how long he should be eating the prescription diet since she thought of the diet as a medicine (and just like people, once you're healthy again, you should stop using the medicine). I don't know enough about the diet to tell her that it's not a medicine because I'm not exactly sure myself. My cat still throws up once a week but it's mostly hairballs (which I think is normal?). I did notice that he started eating the cat food a lot more than the food we usually fed him before the prescription diet so at least there was a good change.
Thank you in advance for any replies :)
