I adopted Mandarin about 5mos ago, I think he's ~1-2yrs but it's hard to know. He was a stray living in a feral colony, very friendly so he was probably someone's pet at some point (although he won't sit with me).
When I first got him he didn't know what to do with toys, he basically ignored them, then eventually he started warming up to them, especially liked the catnip mice for a while, destroyed them within a day or so. Chased the feather toys on the string for a while, liked the ball in tower toy for a little bit, but now it seems nothing will grab his attention. He totally ignored a laser-pointer like it wasn't even there. Now even the feather on the string doesn't do it for him.
He basically just yowls for food and sleeps by the window on a shelf most of the day now.
He's a young cat- he needs to be active, I know he'd prefer to be outside but that's not going to happen. I'm not sure what to do at this point.
