Backstory : I had two big dogs. Unfortunately on one walk where I was alone the male attacked me and it caused me to massively distrust him. I loved him with all my heart but every time he came up to me I would just be ready for him to snap. I got a soft muzzle for him so I could get back into walking him but he would just attempt to pull it off which would just make me too scared to continue. We made the heart wrenching decision to re home him with our friend. Now this friend was a perfect fit, he’d already been a friend of our dogs and he lives close enough that both the dogs can still play together. He’s a very happy dog there. But now my partner has brought up the idea of adopting a dog as he misses having two around the house. Even though I love the idea I can’t help but feel massive guilt due to the fact we re homed one of our pets. I also feel guilty saying no as it was my fault our dog had to be given away. What would you do in my situation?
