A couple months back my tiny dog broke her front leg in addition to the already broken one. We took her to the vet immediately and were given the option to get expensive surgery or use casts. We chose casts. We take her for a checkup and they say she’s healing well and should expect the casts to come off soon. Next few visits they say she’s not healing well all of a sudden but she has no trouble walking around at all. Now today they are saying they want to amputate one of her legs because it’s not healing. I don’t trust their word because they’ve been making a lot of mistakes throughout this whole ordeal and haven’t been doing what they should.
Each time we took her they never changed her casts (she’s had them on since October) or reset her legs. They take the X-rays through the dirty casts. They messed up the dates that we took her to get seen, they keep switching up her condition and now suddenly want to amputate her leg.
I’m obviously going to look for another vet just to get a different opinion before we make any rash choices, but I want to know what you fellow pet owners think we should do? She’s only 1 and we don’t want to have to amputate a leg.
