When I was younger, I owned cats, and my ex had a cat that I loved. Well, I just recently moved into a new apartment, first time and everything. I have a brand new bed and a huge brand new couch, both which cost 1k a piece. My biggest issue with having a cat, is that I am afraid that it will scratch up my bed or the couch. I had a friend who had a cat, and even though she had a scratching post for her, the cat would continuously tear up the bed and the couch. Is there a way to make sure that this does not happen? I mean im at work from 8-5 and i can't really monitor what the kitty will be doing in her own time. My only other choice is to get 2 guinea pigs..but you can't really cuddle with those and i hear that they make really loud noises at night. Any advice please?
