Back story: brought home a bombay kitten when she was 4 months old. An hour into the 6 hour drive home I stopped at Walmart to get a small litterbox so I could let her out in the truck just in case she needed to use the restroom. I let her out and she promptly ran under the passenger seat. I go around and open the door and she promptly takes off running across the Walmart parking lot. After 10 frantic minutes of chasing her I managed to scoop her up and bring her home. Slowly introduced her to my cat adam and everything was fine. Then it came time for flea treatments and nail trims. She was not a fan. At all. After 3 months she would run if I walked towards her. 4 months ago I moved apartments. I moved everything except her and then managed to get her to run into the bedroom. I managed to get her into the carrier after 20min of chasing her around the room. She hissed and howled and sounded like she wanted to kill me as I scooped her up in a towel to out her in the carrier. She used to be a lap cat, but now she doesn't even like to be in the same room as me. I feel horrible because her breed loves to be around their person, but she absolutely hates me. I am more than willing to spend the next 15+ years loving her from a distance, but I can't help but wonder if I am doing her a disservice by keeping her when she clearly doesn't want anything to do with me. I mean if I so much as bend down to pet her she dips her back and runs to the other side of the room. Does anyone have any advice on how to regain her trust? She is 17 months old. I have 2 other cats who love me to death, they are 6 years old and 8 months old.
TL;DR: One of my cats hates me. Is there anything I can do to rectify the situation?
