There will be a summary at the bottom but i feel that context is important.
My Dog is 10+ Years old and I've had him for all of those years. A while back he started acting strange, He would shiver very intensely but would appear fine. He had a prominent chest but I noticed that it seems a bit caved? And is usually a bit cold. This is in combination with him being in pain when trying to climb things higher than him which wasn't a problem before.
One night he refused to come inside and it was freezing. (He lived as an inside dog by choice) This particular night the other doggos came in a but earlier while he was out past his usual time so i checked on him. He seemed to stay around the edge of the fence but seemed alright while shivering a bit but I figured he was okay. After around 10 more minutes of him being out there i went out myself and waited with him for around an hour while he seemed to walk around shivering and standing.
Trying to get him back inside came with a lot of resistance so I figured a walk would be better, We walked for another hour or so mostly running at a joggers pace where he pooped a few times (Normal poop, I pick it up every time)
After the walk instead of running inside he opt'd to return to the yard to which I actually did force him inside so he wouldn't get sick. This happened the following day as well though I didn't wait nearly as long for him to come in and took him for a walk much earlier.
A few days of slight improvements later he seemed to be back to his normal self but he really wanted to go for a walk, This was during the day. We set off and it was a pretty normal walk but he tried to rush onto the street with an oncoming car but I stopped him immediately but this was something he's never done before. We decided to walk home early and passed some people walking their dog, I know him well since he always got out of their yard and I would bring him back, He's already met my dog (Coop) a few times but Coop didn't pay much mind to him as usual. The small doggo pulled them up to coop with coop being pretty relaxed but for some alien reason he lashed out on the doggo and bit him, I got him off immediately but the doggo was bleeding. (He was fine according to his owner and i can see him while he's in their yard and he seemed fine but i hope it's the case)
I noted his eyes trying to understand why but his pupils were only a little bigger than this period. I knew my words wouldn't reach him so I gab the lady my contact information before going home.
I didn't walk him for almost a week after this but a few hours after the incident his eyes had a weird foggy look to them, I never seen it before. I took him for a late night walk to avoid anyone or anything thing and it always seems to lower the density of the foggy eye effect.
I started walking him at night for a while after that but his foggy eyes would come and go with no clear indication of what's causing it.
I took him to the vet recently and received antibiotics for him and his foggy eyes haven't returned for the duration of him taking the pills.
Additional notes- I usually give him Grounded cloves in a mix as it's a strong antibacterial natural substance and it would always help whenever I expected that he wouldn't be feeling well (This always helped)
He's never been an aggressive dog, One time when we ran into a violent dog he was more defensive than aggressive.
We've met (Snout to snout) Many dogs with the only issue being separating two possible friends.
We've encountered many stray dogs, Two of which approached us causing be to stand between them but nothing became of any of these encounters.
As of now he seems a lot more interested in what other dogs are doing instead of barely caring to even look, He also pulls towards them at times now instead of simply walking by them with no need to even say anything or adjust-Even if that dog is barking at us.
Has anyone experienced this kind of behavior? Anyone know a fix?
