Concerned about my dog's breathing

Hi all. My nearly 13 year old labrador retriever has been incredibly healthy all throughout his life. Lately, I've noticed that he seems to be struggling to breathe, mostly while inhaling. It's a raspy sound, and sounds a little bit like when you suck on a straw in a cup with only a little bit of your drink left. This is only really noticeable when he's lying down and sleeping, and I think I've heard this for about a few weeks. (He's kind of been snoring for a few years now, so I didn't think much of it at first). I'm already fearing that this is a severe health problem, and my dread (along with the difficulties of covid) have kept me from making an appointment to the vet.

Now, I've already been preparing myself for my dog's inevitable passing for a few years now (due to his old age), but do you have any advice? Should I take him to the vet immediately?
